The Mahabharat Torrent Frog (𝐴𝑚𝑜𝑙𝑜𝑝𝑠 𝑚𝑎ℎ𝑎𝑏ℎ𝑎𝑟𝑎𝑡𝑒𝑛𝑠𝑖𝑠), a vulnerable species on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species, faces serious threats from habitat loss and over-exploitation, particularly from the local practice of ´paha hunting´ – a recreational activity that is also used for food and medicine. Led by Pooja Paudel, this project aims to collect critical ecological data and promote sustainable harvesting practices to protect these frogs, particularly during their breeding season.

By involving local students and communities, the project will foster a new generation of conservationists and develop stewardship for the Mahabharat Torrent Frog!
